Introduction to Alina
A little about me :)
Hi! My name is Alina Caulfield and I am a teacher at Nathan Bishop Middle School. I teach 7th and 8th grade English to multilingual learners. I am originally from Delaware and went to the University of Delaware, where I earned a B.A. in English, a B.S. in Energy and Environmental Policy, and minors in Sociology and Philosophy.
I am part of the Teach for America Rhode Island 2020 Corps, and just finished my first year of teaching in the midst of the pandemic. The best part of teaching 7th and 8th grade English is witnessing students make connections to deeper truths about the their environments, themselves, and the world. Working with my students has me laughing every day and connecting with my inner child, as well as thinking deeply about some of the things they say that are wiser than most adults.
I am passionate about the environment, women's rights & human rights, education, ecofeminism, environmental sociology, and literacy. In my free time I love to read, listen to music, spend time with family & friends, play piano, draw and collage, hike, do yoga, take film & digital photos of nature and my friends, and make jewelry. I also am an ENTJ.
